Going Green

Here is a pic of Sonia and her green turtle pillow taken on March 26th.

And a video from that same day. She is a cute, smiling, happy, little girl.

Thumb Sucking -- Mobile Watching

Here are some videos of Sonia a couple of days ago. She is learning to suck her thumb with all fingers fanned out in front of her face. And she is taking notice of the mobile in her crib. It's so fun to watch her learn about her surroundings.

Vaccinations

On Friday, March 14th, Sonia went to the pediatrician to have her two month check-up. She has gained 4 lbs., 9 oz. since she was born and is 2.5 inches longer (this equates to her being 12 lbs. and 23 1/4 inches long). The nurse said that her weight is in the 75th percentile, her head circumference is in the 50th percentile and her height is in the 90th percentile for children her age. All was going fine for Sonia until it was time for the nurse to poke her thrice with needles for vaccinations. Poor little girl...definately not one of Mommy's favorite moments either.
The doctor said she could be irritable for the next 48 hours. The first hours were the worst, and the three Bugs Bunny Band Aids were of little consolation to her. Later that day, she took a long nap, and while not totally back to her sweet, carefree self, I have confidence that the worst is behind us - at least until the next doctor's visit.

Easter Bunny at the Mall

Today, Sonia went to visit the Easter Bunny at the mall. I don't know who had more fun - us or her. We got some great pictures from today. Here are some of my favorites...

Hiccup Artist

In this one minute, eight second feature film, Sonia stars as a hiccup artist who learns that she also has potential for being a great coo master. What talent. I think it runs in the family. Hehe...

Back At It

In case you can't tell from the picture, Sonia and her daddy are getting along just great.

I realize that I've been quite bad about updating this site lately. Rest assured, however, that I have not relented in taking a ton of pics of my little girl. She is, in a word, beautiful, and we are having such a good time with her.

She's begun to smile regularly now when she recognizes a familiar face....and when less familiar faces talk in a high pitched voice - that works too. She is a good sleeper. During the night, I get up once between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. to feed her. She immediately falls back asleep and I then I hear from her again around 6:30 a.m. She naps once in the morning and then most of the afternoon. She likes to sit in her bouncy chair and entertain herself while Don and I make supper in the evening. After that, she usually listens to her daddy play the drums or her mommy play piano or butcher some song on the guitar. She doesn't seem to mind my guitar playing, though, which is nice.

I'm tired a lot because of the added responsibilities, but it is indeed worth it as all my friends told me it would be. Ok, you guys are officially off the hook. You were right. :-)
