First Birthday

Here are the pictures of Sonia after she ate her first birthday cake. Wow. Hard to believe we have a kid. And she's more than a year old. We still can't believe we got married and here we are with a 1 year old! Her birthday was a quiet one with Don, Sonia and myself all at home that day. I baked her a cake that afternoon and sang Happy Birthday to her that evening after she'd eaten her supper. It was really a nice day. And a lot warmer outside than it was a year ago. Don remembers that... I was in the hospital room, so I don't remember much about the weather. All I know is that I was so happy that my baby had finally come. And now, it's amazing looking back how far she's come from that point. I'm just so glad she's here. :-)

Christmas

Sonia's first Christmas was wonderful. We opened presents on Christmas morning. Not being a destructive kid by nature, she didn't want to rip the paper off the presents. It took us starting each tear for her and then coaxing her take hold of the paper to tear some herself. It was cute and she truly had a good time.
